<展望>日本の社会学領域における「代替養育」の研究状況と今後の展望

Abstract

本稿の目的は，様々な事情によって実親のもとで養育されない子どもに対する公的な保護・養育のしくみである「代替養育」を，社会学がどのように研究してきたのかをレビューし，今後の展望を示すことである．「代替養育」の歴史社会学研究は子どもの公的な保護をめぐる言説状況を跡付けてきた一方，「代替養育」のフィールドワーク研究はインタビュー調査や参与観察の手法を用いて，保護されて里親や施設のもとにおかれたあとの子どもの経験に照準してきた．また，「代替養育」のフィールドワーク研究のうち，里親を対象とした研究は里親内部の差異や多様性に注目しつつも家族社会学内部に閉じられていたのに対し，施設を対象とした研究は多様な社会学的関心からなされつつも多くの研究対象を手つかずのまま残している．こうした研究対象，研究関心上の偏りを踏まえ，さらなる研究の方向性をいくつか示した．

The purpose of this paper is to overview how sociological studies have studied “alternative care”, the official system of protection and fostering of children separated from their parents. The historical sociology of “alternative care” has described the discourse on “the children to be protected officially”, while the sociological studies based on fieldwork have focused on the experiences of children in foster families or childcare facilities. The field research on foster parents has focused on the differences in the object, while it has been made only in family sociology. On the other hand, the field research on childcare facilities has been made in many fields in sociology, while it has missed many objects of study. Based on this review, the final section of this paper shows the future prospects of the studies on “alternative care” in Japanese sociology.
