抄録: Most agitations in Nigeria for state creation and subsequent creation of states have been political, often efforts by some political elite for more access to governmental power. Creation of states has also been used to balance the North-South unbalance in the Nigerian federation, as well as to satisfy the interests of minority ethnic groups. It has also been used to abort the secession of the eastern part of the country. The decisions on which states were to be created reflect the prevailing power equation at the time of the exercise.1995-06-01T00:00:00ZAgriculture et Developpement en Afrique Subsaharienne: Une Analyse des Origines, des Contraintes et des Consequences d'une Crise Agricole qui Necessite un Concours plus Consistant de l'Aide Internationale au Developpement et la Volonte Politique de l'Etat ZairoisMUZIGWA, Kashemahttp://hdl.handle.net/2433/681312023-01-29T08:29:48Z1995-06-01T00:00:00Zタイトル: Agriculture et Developpement en Afrique Subsaharienne: Une Analyse des Origines, des Contraintes et des Consequences d'une Crise Agricole qui Necessite un Concours plus Consistant de l'Aide Internationale au Developpement et la Volonte Politique de l'Etat Zairois

抄録: Zairean children and pregnant women suffer from undernutrition and malnutrition. This is partly due to the lack of funding allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture compared with that to the Ministries of Energy and National Defense in this country. Since 1973 there has been no political power willing to fund sufficiently this ministry although it has been claimed to be the most important priority. Furthermore, insufficient aid to development, adverse change in the international terms of exchange, the imposition of price to the African agro-industrial products and the European agricultural protectionism together comprise a strong obstacle for this country to organize its infrastructure for commericalisation and regional supplying system. Accordingly, compared with other Subsaharian countries (Kenya, Burundi, Ivory Cost) Zairian situation is now getting worse, facing chronicle food shortage which could lead in the very near future to famine in some regions.1995-06-01T00:00:00ZThe Diurnal Primate Fauna and Population Densities of Tschego Chimpanzees in Southwestern CongoIHOBE, Hiroshihttp://hdl.handle.net/2433/681302023-01-29T08:29:48Z1995-06-01T00:00:00Zタイトル: The Diurnal Primate Fauna and Population Densities of Tschego Chimpanzees in Southwestern Congo

抄録: An extensive two-part survey on the diurnal primate fauna and population densities of tschego chimpanzees (Pan t. troglodytes) was carried out in southwestern Congo from November 1992 to February 1993. The first half of the survey was conducted in the Regions of Niari and Lekoumou. In this area, the occurrence of Pan t. troglodytes and Cercopithecus pogonias was confirmed by direct observations. The occurrence of Gorilla g. gorilla, Mandrillus sphinx, Cercopithecus cephus and C. nictitans was confirmed by the indirect evidence. Local people informed me of the presence of Cercocebus albigena, C. torquatus and Miopithecus talapoin, although they were not confirmed directly. The second half of the survey was carried out at Dimonika in the Region of Kouilou. Pan t. troglodytes and Cercopithecus cephus were directly observed. Feer (1991) has reported the occurrence of Gorilla g. gorilla, Mandrillus sphinx, Cercocebus albigena, Cercopithecus pogonias and C. nictitans, but no evidence was obtained for their presence. The chimpanzee population densities, calculated from nest counts in the survey, were higher near the border of Gabon and in the eastern part of the Region of Lekoumou than other areas. This difference in population densities seemed to be due to differences in hunting pressure by humans. The overall population density of chimpanzees in southwestern Congo was lower than that in the Nouabale-Ndoki National Park in northern Congo, but roughly the same as in Equatorial Guinea, and in Gabon.1995-06-01T00:00:00ZTaxonomy of Some Fungi Used by the Songola People (Zaire)COURTECUISSE, Regishttp://hdl.handle.net/2433/681292023-01-29T08:29:48Z1995-06-01T00:00:00Zタイトル: Taxonomy of Some Fungi Used by the Songola People (Zaire)
