BuTDS(注)の泌尿器科領域における使用経験

Abstract

I. There is no appropriate preventive measures for p o stoperative paralysis of intestinal tract due to physiological ileus which originates from abdominal distention in the urological field. The present study was aimed to prevent postoperative paralysis of intestinal tract by a thiamine derivative, O-Butyrylthiamine disulfide (BuTDS), which was given intravenously 50 mg twice a day in the morning and evening, from one day before the operation till onset of natural expulsion of gas from the rectum. As anticipated, the interval of onset of expulsion of gas after operation was effectively shortened in BuTDStreated group (21 patients) as compared with the control group (12 patients). II. Influence of BuTDS on the capacity of bladder, amount and r a te of residual urine, and inner pressure of bladder were examined before and after the intravenous injection of BuTDS (50 mg) twice a day in 14 patients with neurogenic bladder. Ten out of 14 patients responded to the drug satisfactorily while 3 responded ineffectively. As the remaining 1 case complained of pain of blood vessel, the therapy discontinued. Side-effect was not noted subjectively nor objectively except 1 case of pain of blood vessel.
