Abstract: In order to investigate the effect of 1-diethylaminoethyl-3 (p-methoxybenzyl)-quinoxalone (P-201) on the ureteral function, electromyograms of the adult dog ureters were recorded after renal vein ligation. Blood pressure was also recorded. The following results were obtained. 1) Action potential of the ureter disappeared for 90 to 180 seconds after intra-arterial injection of P-20l at dosage of 2 mg/kg. Transient lowering of blood pressure by 20 to 40 mmHg was simultaneously observed. 2) After intra-arterial injection of P-201 at dosage of 1 mg/kg, discharge intervals of action potential were prolonged by 100 to 200 %. There was, however, almost no change in blood pressure.
