前立腺手術に際しての精管切断術の再検討

Abstract

274 patients who received prostatic surgery in our clinic during the past nine years from 1965 to 1973 were examined to re-evaluate the effectiveness of vasectomy in the prevention of postoperative epididymitis following prostatic surgery. From the results of this study, it has been shown that the preoperative vasectomy is of value in preventing post-operative epididymitis, and the better results should be obtained when vasectomy will be performed before urinary infection would develop. Consequently, vasectomy to control the postoperative epididymitis is most effective if it is done before the retention urethral catheter is placed, and it must be done as early as possible when the retention catheter has already been placed.
