|Abstract:||A misdiagnosed case of carcinoma of the prostate was discussed. Its histology was benign and the patient was treated as such, neglecting biochemical data and clinical signs. The evaluation of diagnostic value of total serum acid phosphatase and prostatic serum acid phosphatase was done, and it was concluded that they were very significant in diagnosis of prostatic cancer in our 13 years experience. In the treatment of prostatic cancer, the female hormone is not always effective and has its limitation. The other endocrine therapies using male hormone or metabolic hormone would be developed in future.|
