| dc.description.abstract | Sulfobenzyl penicillin (SB-PC) was prescribed as a prophylactic regimen 2 to 6 g per day, 5 to 15 days duration postoperatively to nine renal transplantation recipients. On premising that there are no snrgical problems such as urinary fistulas and/or urinary obstructions, prophylactic effects of the drug seem to be promising. SB-PC was used in three cases with infection: two of them were cured without spread of any other sites, but SB-PC was discontinued in remaining one because of urticaria. Considering preoperative uremic state and/or use of several immunosuppressive drugs, it is difficult to assess influences of SB-PC on liver function and bone marrow. | en |
