Abstract

The body weight control of cases on hemodialysis in the initial period is usually very difficult. We examined the change in body weight in fifteen cases, ten males and five females during the initial period on hemodialysis from the beginning until the 11th month. The body weight and hematocrit value on prehemodialysis and posthemodialysis were examined. In the male cases the body weight increased in eight patients and decreased in one patient and remained the same in one. In the female cases, the body weight increased in four patients and decreased in one. The value of hematocrit was not remarkably changed in any of patients.
