膀胱後部から発生したMalignant Fibrous Histiocytomaの1例

Abstract

A case with malignant fibrous histiocytoma developing from the retrovesical portion is reported. The patient was a 52-year-old man who was admitted with a chief complaint of dysuria. On rectal examination, a stony hard mass was palpable at the upper outside of the left lobe of the prostate. Other physical examination and laboratory data were within normal range. On operation, a 7cm X 4cm X 2.5cm mass weighing about 100g was removed along with the prostate and the seminal vesicle. It had an irregular lobulated gray-yellowish cut surface. At the microscopic histopathological findings, pleomorphic and atypical fibroblast-like spindle cells and histiocyte-like round cells arranged in a storiform pattern and giant cells including hemosiderine were observed. A recurrent tumor was found arround the vesicostomy on 70th postoperative day and the chemotherapy was started on 108th day but he died without the response to the therapy on 132th day. Besides our experience of malignant fibrous histiocytoma, review of the literature and comments on the therapy are presented.
