抄録: Statistical studies were performed on 1320 bacterial strains isolated from patients with urinary tract infection and disk sensitivities at the urological department of Tokyo Metropolitan Komagome Hospital from April 1975 to March 1979. Gram-negative bacilli comprised 73.6% of all strains. E. coli was isolated from the in- and outpatients most frequently (41 %), followed by Staphylococcus epidermidis (9.0%), Serratia (7.8%), Proteus spp. (7.8%), Enterococcus (6.8%), Pseudomonas (6.4%), and others. From the inpatients, 220 bacterial strains were isolated. Gram-negative bacilli comprised 85% of the strains, which were Serratia (32.3%), Pseudomonas (15%), Proteus spp. (11.4%), E. coli (9.1 %), Klebsiella (7.3%), Enterobacter (6.4%) and others. More than 75% of E. coli strains were sensitive to all chemotherapeutics except CP and TC. Klebsiella showed high sensitivity to CL, GM and KM. Proteus spp. showed high sensitivity to GM and moderate sensitivity to KM, NA and CBPC. Pseudomonas showed high sensitivity to GM and CL, and moderate sensitivity to CBPC and TC. Serratia showed moderate sensitivity to only GM. More than 80% of Citrobacter showed sensitivity to GM, CL, NA, KM and CP. Gram-positive cocci showed high sensitivity to ABPC and CBPC. Many of the bacterial strains from urinary tract infections showed resistance to multi antimicrobial agents especially in Gram-negative bacilli. Only a few drugs showed sensitivity to all bacterial strains which resisted to other drugs as far as E. coli, Pseudomonas and Enterococcus are concerned.
