他種penicillin耐性E.coli起因慢性尿路感染症に対するpivmecillinamの臨床的検討

Abstract

Thirty patients (age range of 15 to 84 years with a mean of 62.3 years; 11 males, 19 females) with chronic urinary tract infection (chronic pyelonephritis and chronic cystitis), induced by various Escherichia coli resistant to other penicillins were orally given pivmecillinam at the daily dose of 200 to 800 mg for 4 to 14 days (mean 7.9 days). A positive therapeutic response was obtained after the administration of pivmecillinam in 83.3% of the patients. The side effects noted were slight gastro-intestinal disturbances in 3 patients and a slight elevation of the serum GOT and/or GPT levels was seen in only 2 patients. In conclusion, pivmecillinam is a good oral penicillin in the treatment of patients with chronic urinary tract infection induced by E. coli resistant to various other penicillins.
