進行尿路性器癌に対するcis-Diamminedichloroplatinumの治療成績

Abstract

Nineteen patients with advanced genitourinary carcinoma were treated with cis-diamminedichloroplatinum, including 7 patients with testicular tumor, 6 with prostatic cancer, 3 with ureter tumor, one with renal cell carcinoma and 2 with other. Six patients with testicular tumor were given also bleomycin and vinblastine. Other 13 patients were treated only with DDP in principle. The dosis of 20 mg/m2 or 15 mg/m2 of DDP was administered by slow infusion with mannitol diuresis for 5 consecutive days. Six of 7 patients with testicular tumor showed objective responses, 4 complete and 2 partial, but teratoma was no response. Among 6 patients with advanced prostatic cancer there were 3 minor responses. Whereas, in 3 with ureteral tumor there was only one minor response and only one case with renal cell carcinoma showed partial response. As to side effect, renal dysfunction did not occurred. Bone marrow suppression was inevitable when vinblastine and bleomycin were given. Leucopenia less than 2, 000/mm3 was seen in 6 patients and thrombocytopenia less than 100, 000 /mm3 in 6. Nausea and vomiting was inevitable when treated with DDP. The combination chemotherapy with DDP appears to be effective in testicular tumor and it may be of value in prostatic cancer. But the effectiveness of DDP to other urogenital tumors will require further examination.
