平安京周辺部の別業における地形的囲繞の空間的特性

Abstract

地形の変化に富む京都盆地の山裾部には，多くの名勝や庭園が存在するが，これらのうちの多くがもとは平安時代の別業であった．本研究は，平安京周辺部の別業を対象として，別業の周囲の地形がつくる空間の特性について考察を行った結果，別業では，[1] 二方向以上を視対象となる山によって囲繞されており，[2] 別業を中心として地形を境界とする視覚的な閉鎖空間が形成されており，[3] 囲繞されながらも眺望性・見通しにも優れていた可能性があったことが共通の特徴であることを明らかにした．さらに，地形条件によって，空間の規模などの空間的特性の異なる4つのタイプの地形的囲繞があることを示した．また，平安京周辺部は，別業を中心とする地形的囲繞空間が連なる構造を有していることを示した．

There are many places of scenic beauty and Japanese gardens that were originally villas of the Heian period at the base of mountains in Kyoto. In this paper, we discussed spatial characteristics of the villas, especially focusing on the functions of the topographic formation around them. As a result, it is clarified that 1) Most of the villas were surrounded by mountain, 2) the surrounding landform makes enclosed spaces around villas, 3) villas acquired both a prospect and an enclosure. And we categorized spatial characteristics of this topographic enclosure into 4 types according to their topographic conditions and spatial scales, and characteristics of the enclosure. These enclosed spaces around villas clustered in the outskirts of Heian-kyo.
