Abstract: The present paper is a study of Darayavau-I, a great ruler of ancient Persia under the Haxamanis dynasty, which succeeded in establishing the last unification in ancient southwestern Asia. The study is intended to clarify the political ideas resulting from the belief in Auramazdah- in the light of inscriptions in Old Persian, explaining the mental and spiritual basis of this ancient empire and finding a typical example therein of interrelations between politics and religion.
