ブータン・カリン高齢者健診予備報告

Abstract

2010年10月から12月にかけてブータンの東部に位置するカリン地区でブータン王国保健省と協力して高齢者健診を行った. 健診には65歳以上の高齢者184名が参加した. 参加者は女性96名(平均年齢73.9±6.9歳, 最高齢96歳), 男性88名(平均年齢73.2±5.7歳, 最高齢91歳)であった. 184名の参加者のうち30名(16.3%)に基本的日常生活機能の障害を認めた. その他, 高血圧128名, 低体重19名, 過体重35名, 肥満13名, 空腹時血糖異常21名, 糖尿病8名, 低HDLコレステロール血症81名, 高LDL血症28名, 高トリグリセリド血症12名, 貧血25名, 尿失禁 女性30名, 男性14名認めた. 128名の高血圧患者のうち62名(48.4%)はこの健診にて初めて高血圧を指摘された. 女性, 男性ともにBody Mass Index(BMI)は収縮期血圧と有意に関連していた. カリンの高齢者において高血圧の頻度は高い可能性がある. この地域で高血圧の予防及び治療は重要な課題である.

From October to December, 2010, we conducted medical checkup for the elderly in Khaling, Bhutan in cooperation with Ministry of Health, Bhutan. Totally 184 people aged 65 years or over participated into the checkup. The ages of the participants were 73.9+6.9 years old among females and 73.2+5.7 years old among males on average(the oldest female 96 years old, males 91 years old). Out of 184 participants, 30 participants(16.3%) had difficulties in basic activities of daily living. The other results were as follows: hypertension 128/184(69.6%), low-weight 19/178(10.7%), over-weight 35/178(19.7%), obesity 13/178(7.3%), impaired fasting glucose 21/184(11.4%), diabetes 8/184(4.3%), low HDL cholesterol 81/183(44.3%), high LDL cholesterol 28/183(15.3%), high triglyceride 12/183(6.6%), anemia 25/183(13.7%), urinary incontinence 30/ 95(31.6%) among female and 14/86(16.3%) among male. Out of 128 hypertensive participants, 62(48.4%) had never been pointed out before the medical checkups. Body Mass Index was significantly related with systolic blood pressure both in female and male. Prevalence of hypertension seemed to be high among the elderly in Khaling, Bhutan. The prevention and control should be significantly important.
