森林にかかわる活動への参加希望に影響を及ぼす認識の分析 : 神戸市の高校生を事例に

Abstract

本研究の目的は, 普通科の高等学校で森林環境教育の実施に資するために, 森林にかかわる活動に対する高校生の意識を一つの指標として, 生徒の参加したい活動の種類とその背景となる事項を明らかにすることである. 神戸市内の高校において, 2008 年と2009 年の一年生に対し, 森林や農山村に関する意識を問うアンケート調査を実施した. 二回の調査で計598名に配布し, 591名から回答を得た. 有効回答数は554名で, 有効回答率は92.6% であった. 調査結果に多重ロジスティック回帰分析を適用し, 統計的に処理した. その結果, 9割の生徒は森林にかかわる活動への参加を希望していることが分かった. さらに, 森林内での作業を体験したい人は, 農村部に居住を希望し, 農林業・木材業関連の職業に関心があったが, どのような活動にも参加を希望しない人は, 都市部に居住を希望しており, 森林を含む自然環境や農山村への関心が低いことが明らかになった. これらの研究結果を一般化するためには, 調査地を増やし, さらなる検討を加える必要がある.

Forest environmental education in high school can provide students with chances to understand forests. The purpose of this study was to examine high school students' attitudes toward participating in activities related to forests and the environment as a baseline for developing forest environmental education in high schools. Opinion surveys were conducted with first-year high school students in the city of Kobe in 2008 and 2009. Results from the 554 of 591 surveys that included answers to all of the questions were statistically analyzed using a logit model. Among students who were willing to participate in activities related to forests, factors related to the willingness to experience forestry work included a desire to live in the countryside and interest in earning a living through forestry work. In contrast, students who did not want to experience any forest-related activities hoped to live in a city and had little interest in forests and natural environments. Future studies should assess the same concepts but include other study sites to see how perceptions might change among locations.
