Abstract: 自ら山に入って薬草を採取し、製薬し、心を込めて患者に処方できる薬剤師になりたい!当時25歳の若き筆者は、そんな理想を描きながら信州の山へ薬草を探しに出かけ、畑で当帰という薬草を栽培していた。土と汗の匂いのする薬剤師になりたいと願っていた。更にそれだけでは飽き足らず、1999年、薬草界の大リーグともいえるチベット医学を目指し、インド・ダラムサラへと渡ったのである。ここにはチベット医学の中心的存在、メンツィカン(チベット医学暦学大学)がある)。
Generally, Tibetan Medical science have been focused on only medical treatment, for example pulse analysis, and urinalysis, and utilizes behavior and dietary modification, medicine of natural materials and physical therapies to treat illness. Besides that, this paper makes points of new view which contributes to modern society. The view is education system of Tibetan doctor which is called "Amuchi" by Tibetan people. Tibetan medical students go to High Mountains and collect herbal plants by themselves. They have a very important mission that is not only observation of herbal plants but also collecting herbal plants which will be make medicine after that. They stay and run about in the high mountains all day. They look around for herbs, and pick, carry, wash, dry, cut, and grind, and make medicine. Finally it is returned to local people. Through this most harsh camping, they learn to become tough doctor. In like manner, modern medical science should have a curriculum of medical herb education in academic training, and should start educating from the starting point.
