Abstract

村上春樹の『羊をめぐる冒険』(1984)の基底には<再・拠失>の詩学がある. 本作では, 鼠と呼ばれる主人公の死んだ親友が, 羊男, そして幽叢として姿を現し, 再び姿を消す. また, 主人公の自殺した恋人が, 「誰とでも寝る女の子」, 「耳の女の子」として現れ, 前者は交通事故で死に, 後者は突然, 主人公のもとを去る. さらに, <再・喪失>の詩学は登場人物だけなく, 物や場所にも適応される. 時計の停止が, 鼠の<再・喪失>を, 再訪した海岸から立ち去ることが, 青春の<再・喪央>を表してもいる.

The poetics of "re-loss" underlies Haruki Murakami's a Wild Sheep Chase (1984). Rat, the protagonist's dead friend, appears as the Sheep-Man and a ghost, and then disappears again. The protagonist's dead girlfriend appears as "the girl who'd sleep with anyone" and "the girl with magical ears" ; the former is killed in a traffic accident, and the latter leaves him suddenly. Furthermore, the poetics of "re-loss" is applied not only to characters but also to an object and a place ; the stop of a clock symbolizes Rat's "re-loss, " and the protagonist's leaving his hometown beach suggests the "re-loss" of his adolescence.
