<論説>旗本領の構造 : その相給形態を中心に

Abstract

幕藩体制史の研究の中で遅れている分野の一つが旗本、あるいは旗本領の研究である。なかでも旗本領の研究は史料の制約もあって、組織的研究が困難な領域の一つであるといっていい。けれども最近になって漸くそうした領域の研究もすすんで来て、多くの勝れた業績に接することができるようになったが、旗本領の研究に経験のある人々ならば誰でも知っている、一村を二人あるいは数人で支配する、相給(分給) の村のあることに気付くのであるが、実はこの相給や分給の村々の実態は必ずしも十分にとらえられていないので、こうした点を理解する若干の史料の紹介をかねて、そうした村に展開する政治支配についての問題の所在を考えようとしたのが、この小論の意図である。御批判いただければ幸である。

In the history of the study of the Shogunate Administration one of the weak points is the study of Hatamoto 旗本 or Hatamoto territory, which is to be considered as an aspect in which systematical study is difficult partly because of very few sources : though many works have been recently published. As whoever has studied Hatamoto territory knows well, there were some Aikyu 相給 villages (Bunkyu 分給) which were ruled by two or more than two lords. As the reality of these Aikyu or Bunkyu villages is not actually known, this article tries to study the political control over these villages, introducing some sources with which to understand the reality.
