<論説>日本労働総同盟の第一次分裂と西尾末廣

Abstract

本稿では、左右対立が顕在化してから第一次分裂に到る時期の西尾末廣の総同盟における役割を検討する。西尾は一三年大会以後、実質的に総同盟の最高指導者となっていた。一九二四年秋、国際労働会議から帰国した酉尾は、関東労働同盟会に発生した左右対立の調停者として、鈴木会長ら本部役員が解決能力を喪失するなかで総同盟の統一を守るために奔走する。観念的な左派による右派指導者追いおとしを自己目的化した行動と、右派の執拗な左派排除斥策動のはざまにあって、西尾は左派除名に反対し、関東地方評議会の設立を認めることによってようやく小康状態をつくりだすことに成功した。しかし一九二五年三月におこなわれた全国大会における、左派の右派幹部を攻撃する態度と、その後の分派行動を見て、西尾はやむなく会長代理としてみずからの手で左派を除名することになるのである。

In this article, I examine the role of Suehiro Nishio from the time, when the conflict became clear between the right and the left in the Japanese Federation of Labour, to its first split. Nishio virtually became its highest leader after the 13 th national Congress (Feb. 1924) of the Federation. In the autumn of 1924, he, who had come back from the International Labour Conference 国際労働会議, worked for its unity as a meditator of the conflict between the right and the left within the Kanto Federation of Labour 関東労働同盟会 because the headquaterssuch as the president Suzuki 鈴木 had lost the ability to solve it. The idealistic left was aiming at removing the leaders of the right, where-as the right persisted in excluding the left. So with difficulty, Nishio succeeded in bringing about a brief tranquility by objecting to the expulsion of the left and by admitting the foundation of the Kanto Regional Council 関東地方評議会. But the left still attacked the right at the National Congress in March 1925 and after that continued factional activities. Therefore Nishio reluctantly struck their names off the list by himself as the deputy president.
