| 抄録: | This paper examines the rarely-studied literature on "the sarin gas attacks on the Tokyo subway, " comprising Yo Henmi's “Boiled Egg" (1995), Haruki Murakami's Underground (1997), Kiyoshi Shigematsu's Satsuki Dankei (2000), Seishu Hase's 9.11 Club (2008), and Hiromi Kawakami's Voice of Water (2014). The victims had difficulty in verbalizing the suffering and being understood by others. Accordingly, they can be called "solitude" victims. Focusing on the victims of the sarin gas attacks, this paper seeks to describe the writers' struggle to create their own stories about an unprecedented event. |
