<論文>IPアドレス範囲計算の納得し易い説明法の開発 --軽微なネットワーク障害の非専門家による対応を目的として--

Abstract

The information and/or communication network is an important infrastructure of the society. Many small-scale companies connect to the Internet and non-IT professionals in such corporations should handle the minor troubles regarding internal networks. The said case requires the basics of IP technologies including the IPv4 address network range calculation. In general, the IPv4 address network range calculation is defined and explained using binary operations and this concept is difficult for the abovementioned employees to understand without having expertise in information technology. This dissertation aims to illustrate that we have developed the easy calculation method by substituting the binary definition with the decimal definition of the network address range, and the understandable explanation method by interpreting the IP address expression from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255 as ordinary sequential numbers with carry over for non-IT experts. We practiced these developed methods in two seminars for the people working in small-scale companies hosted by the Polytechnic Center and show the result of the survey associated with such workshops.
