| 抄録: | This paper provides a detailed study of the famous text on algebra, kitāb al-ğabr wa'l-muqābala, composed by al-Ḫwārizmī who was employed at the “House of Wisdom” (Bayt al-ḥikma) of al-Ma'mūn around the first half of the ninth century. It consists of a Japanese translation of a chapter entitled “Measurement” (misāḥa) along with a mathematical commentary. |
