<センター教員・共同研究論考>コロナ禍の学生経験を把握するための調査設計に向けて --コロナ禍で行われた学生調査項目の整理を通じて--

Abstract

2020年4月以降、新型コロナウイルス感染症予防の一環として、多くの大学がキャンパスの閉鎖、授業のオンライン化、課外活動等の中止などを実施し、学生は通常とは異なる学生生活を経験することとなった。「withコロナ」の生活が長期化する中、これらの学生経験が今後の学生生活や卒業後の生活にどのような影響を及ぼす可能性があるのかが問われるべきであろう。そこで本稿では、コロナ禍の学生経験を把握するための調査設計に向け、2020年度に行われた学生調査の調査項目を概観し、既に把握されていることの観点を整理し、さらに必要な観点が何かを論じることを目的とした。結果、これらの調査においては、キャンパスを学生の学習経験を豊かにする環境として位置づける視点、および、学生経験が青年期アイデンティティに及ぼす影響という視点が看過されていることが明らかとなった。今後、コロナ禍の学生経験の実態を把握するために、これらの視点を組み込んだ調査の設計が必要である。

Since April 2020, universities had to take challenging decisions to close the campus, shift face-to-face classes to online and stop extracurricular activities in order to take account of the health and safety of students and staff. Under such circumstances, students have been experiencing disrupted student life over a year. With the prolonged “with corona” student experience, the question should be asked as to how these student experiences may affect future student life and life after graduation. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to review the student surveys conducted in FY2020 in order to design a survey to understand the student experience during the corona pandemic and to identify what further perspectives are needed. As a result, it became clear that the perspectives that position the campus as an environment that enriches students’ learning experience, and the perspective of the impact of student life on the development of adolescent identity were overlooked in these surveys. In the future, it will be necessary to design surveys that incorporate these perspectives in order to gain an enriched understanding of the student experience during the pandemic.
