<論考>村上春樹の渡独体験 --「三つのドイツ幻想」と「日常的ドイツの冒険」を中心とした考察--

Abstract

Haruki Murakami claims that he has been interested in the history of Nazi Germany since a young age. He had studied German in university; however, German literature has had only a limited influence on his works. Murakami's first experience overseas was his travel to Germany in the fall of 1983. His essays published in the Japanese magazine BRUTUS and the German motifs apparent in his works convey the significance of his experiences in Germany. The Berlin Wall has specifically been portrayed with a decisive meaning in his works. The event of his drug experience during this period is also notable in that it was reported as a scandal 30 years after the travel.
