老年期にある浄土真宗門信徒の死への態度と宗教性

Abstract

The research sheds light on the conceptual structure of attitudes toward death of the elderly people and its relation to religion, especially Buddhism and folk religion. First of all, the elderly Jodo-shinshu laymen completed the questionnaire, which consisted of the scales of religiosity and the attitudes toward death. The conceptual structure of the attitudes toward death, i.e. approach acceptance, death anxiety, fear of pain of dying process, and escape acceptance with the use of statistical analysis is shown. The conceptual structures of the religious behaviors and religious beliefs are also shown. Furthermore, ones relations to religion through the lifespan developmental process were discussed. Finally, it also demonstrates that various relations between the attitudes toward death and the religiosity exist.
