dc.description.abstractA simple formula is proposed to describe the effect of pressure on the rate and equilibrium constant of ionic reactions. The expression, given in Eq. (7), has been applied to known data and shown to provide a good description of the pressure effects on a variety of ionic reactions. The extrapolation of the relation to infinite pressure allows us to estimate the intrinsic volume changes.ja
