粘土の鋭敏性について(1)

Abstract

粘土の鋭敏性というのは乱されない試料を練り返したとき物性が著しく変り, 強度なども変化する, そういう性質を示すものである。またそれに附随して練り返した試料を静置しておくと次第に強度が回復するという現象も存在する。これらの現象の本質的な原因をカオリナイトといわれる大阪沖積層粘土を試料として研究した。

The authour has studied on the sensitivity of osaka alluvial clay which seems to beKaolinite. In this study, it was found that the sensitivity was caused by the variation of"special water' whose electric resistance was regarded as infinitive and whose latent heatwas about 150 cal/gr. And the strength could be determined only by the effective watercontent which was the difference between the common water content and the special watercontent, regardless whether the sample was disturbed or not.
