地震探査からみた京都盆地南部の地下構造とこれに関連した地震工学上の若干の問題

Abstract

A seismic exploration (refraction method) in the southern part of the Kyoto Basin was plannedby the U.M.P. committee and carried out by a company. Because of some technical and economicalreasons, the eastern part of the area, which the authors had been much interested in, was notcovered by this exploration. The authors decided to have sub-observation lines in the eastern partextending the main line. The observation for the sub-lines was carried out at the same time for themain line.The authors describe the purposes and the results of both of the explorations and give someremarks on the interpretation of the travel time curves. The authors discuss about the undergroundstructure in the area and further refer to some seismic character of the basin structure from theearthquake engineering point of view.
