宮崎地殻変動観測所における地殻変動観測 (第1報)

Abstract

For the purpose of investigating relations between crustal movements and the occurrenceof major earthquakes mainly in the Hyuganada, the Makimine Crustal Movement Observatorywas established in 1969. The Miyazaki Crustal Movement Observatory was established in1974 after that, as part of the Research Project for Earthquake Prediction in Japan. Con-tinuous observation of ground strains and tilts are being carried out with various instrumentsat those Obervatories and observations of seismic activities are being carried out at theMiyazaki Observatory.Although, some kinds of observation commenced in Nov., 1976 in the Miyazaki Observa-tory, due to the insufficient data, there are many problems remaining unsolved. In thispaper, presently, the observational results on the ground strain and tilt at the Miyazaki andMakimine Crustal Movement Observatories, the relation between the change in the groundstrain and the amount of water discharged out of the observation vault due to rainfall, theearthquake activity in the Hyoganada and vicinity of the Miyazaki Observatory and the likeare described.
