腎腫瘍症例

Abstract

Clinical and pathological observations were made on 11 cases of renal tumor seen in the Hiroshima Citizens Hospital for the past 8 years (1954-1961). 1) Renal tumors confirmed by operation an d autopsy were 11 in number out of 5, 385 urological patients during 8 years. 2) Age distribution : The youngest was 20-year-old, the oldest was 75-year-old and 7 cases in 40-60 decades. 3) Sex inc i d ence : 9 males and 2 females. 4) The exposures of A-bomb in th e patients : 3 patients had been ever exposed to A-bomb in Hiroshima at 1, 800-2, 000 meters from the hypocenter. 5) Side : Right kidneys were affected in 5 cases, left also in 5 cases and bilateral in a case. 6) Prognosis : Survivals are 8 the longest duration after operation is 6 years and the shortest 9 months. One of them had metastases to the left supraclavicular lymphnodes and another one to the left lung and spine. 3 patients died. One of them, 24-year-old male with adenocarcinoma died of metastases to the peritoneum and the second one, a case of tuberous sclerosis, died of severe hematuria. The cause of death in the third case (75-year-old male) is unknown.
