抄録: Investigations were carried out on the hormonal env i ronments in cases of the urinary tract tumors especially in cancer of the prostate with a reference to the thymus. 1. Following administration of the thymic agent, decreases in eo s inphile leukocyte count of the peripheral blood and excretions of the urinary total 17 KS and the urinary total 17 OHCS and a increase in the urinary gonadotropin were observed. 2. Following administration of the thymic agent, a transien t aggravation in reactibility against ACTH-Z was observed in patients with cancer of the prostate. 3. In male rats of the Wistar strain, participation of the thy m us to the prostate was investigated by means of extirpation of the thymus or administration of thymic agent. In both instances no remarkable change was recognized even though a tendency of decrease in the weight of the prostate and a suppressive effect to the adrenal glands were seen after administration of thymic agent. 4. In transplantation e xperiments of cancer tissue of the prostate into the anterior eye chamber of rabbit, a benefical result in growth of the transplanted graft was observed in thymectomized rabbits. These result s suggested us that administration of thymic agent can produce anti-male hormone effect though it is weak, and lead us to postulate that the administration of thymic agent to patients with cancer of the prostate should be done with a sufficient care because the administration made changes in reactibility against ACTH and increase in urinary gonadotropin excretion.
