抄録: | Clinical and bacteriological investigations were made on 1, 157 strains of organisms isolated from the urine of 733 outpatients with urinary tract infections at the Department of Urology, School of Medicine, Kanazawa University during the period of January 1968 to December 1972. We devided the patients into the uncomplicated infection group and the complicated infection group with the structural abnormalities. I. Clinical findings 1) 733 patients with urinary tract infections consisted of chronic cystitis 280 (38.296), acute cystitis 216 (29.6%), chronic pyelonephritis 137 (18.7%), acute pyelonephritis 76 (10.4%) and other diseases. 2) 374 patients in the uncomplicated infection group mainly consisted of acute urinary tract infections, especially acute cystitis. 3) 359 patients in the complicated infection group mainly consisted of chronic urinary tract infections, especially chronic cystitis. II. Bacteriological findings 1) It was found that gram-negative bacilli were detectable in 71.2-83.7% of all isolated organisms and increasing gradually but gram-positive cocci were decreased in recent five years. Of gram-negative bacilli, E. coli isolated most frequently was followed by Proteus, Pseudomonas and Klebsiella. Of grampositive cocci, Staphylococcus and Enterococcus were most frequently isolated. 2) In uncomplicated infection group, mainly isolated organism was E, coli in gramnegative becilli, Staphylococcs in gram-positive cocci. 3) In complicated infection group, so-called low-virulent bacilli, Proteus, Klebsiella and Pseudomonas were increased in gram-negative bacilli, and Enterococcus was predominantly in gram-positive cocci. |
