ビジネス・アーカイブズをめぐる一考察 : 国際シンポジウム「ビジネス・アーカイブズの価値」(2011年5月)への参加を通じて

Abstract

本稿は、2011年5月に国際アーカイブズ評議会企業労働アーカイブズ部会(ICA/SBL)ほかの主催で東京にて開催された国際シンポジウム「ビジネス・アーカイブズの価値」への参加を通じて確認できた、企業アーカイブズほかビジネス・アーカイブズの国際的状況を提示した。さらにこれを踏まえ、ビジネス・アーカイブズヘの見方をより深めるための視点について、筆者なりに提起を試みた。その要点は以下の通りである。このシンポジウムでは「ビジネス・アーカイブズ、とりわけ企業アーカイブズは何よりも企業経営に貢献すべき存在である」という見方が強く押し出された。一方、筆者は「トータル・アーカイブズ」の枠組みを援用しつつ、企業アーカイブズ以外のさまざまなアーカイブズをビジネス・アーカイブズの中に位置づけることにより、より多面的な「ビジネス・アーカイブズ像」の理解ができるのではないか、と提案した。

Section for Business and Labour Archives of the International Council on Archives (ICA/SBL) and other related organizations held the International Symposium "The Value of Business Archives" in Tokyo, May 2011. This article summarizes the issues of business archives worldwide shown in this symposium, and raises counterpoints against such issues. On one hand, many presenters at the symposium maintained that the aim of business archives, especially corporate archives, should be to contribute to corporate management. On the other hand, the author maintains in this article that finding relationship of corporate archives and other kinds of archives, based on the concept of "total archives," will lead to more comprehensive understanding of business archives.
