京都大学医学図書館における秘書向け講習会の開催事例

Abstract

This article reports on a library workshop for laboratory secretaries held at the Kyoto University Medical Library. The Medical Librar y traditionally of fers library orientations, instructions on searching medical literature through classes with faculty members, and library workshops on bibliographic database or reference management software. These services are mainly offered to students of the graduate school of medicine and doctors at the university hospital. In practice, however, many laboratory secretaries search and collect medical literature on behalf of students and doctors. Previously, secretaries had to perform such literature searches without any basic knowledge of how to do so because they did not have the opportunity to participate in library workshops. In this article, we report on the first library workshop held for secretaries in 2012.
