dc.description.abstractResults from the intensive observations of the energy exchange process near the surfaceat the air-surface interaction observing facility are discussed. A roving mast was developedto measure the profiles of wind velocity, temperature and humidity near the groundsurface. The value of the turbulent fluxes of momentum, sensible heat and latent heatobtained from the roving mast are compared with those obtained from the eddy correlationmethod. The profile model developed by Paulson is found to be applicable to the presentfield for momemtum and latent heat flux. However, for sensible heat flux, the profilemodel underestimates the flux value considerably. The cause of this discrepancy has notbeen cleared out.From the shape of the profiles, the layer below the height of 1.5m, where most of theobservations are carried out is found to be reasonably inside of the internal boundarylayer developed over the surface for the present study.en
