Abstract

1) I isolated 12 strains of gonococci fro m 12 different gonorrhoea during the period between October 1955 and January 1956. 2) The density of these 12 strains for the resistance against penicillin were from 0.005 u/cc to 0.05 u/cc. 3) I cultured these 12 strains on the penicillin-added media, 11 strains of them could not obtain the penicillin resistant, while 1 strain got slight resistance of 1.5 to 2.0. 4 ) I found the same density for the resistance against penicillin between the gonococci under the penicillin treatment and before the treatment. 5) I also found in vitro that if bacilli got pen i c illin-resistant in itself its virulence decreased letting the period of incubation longer than ever.
