小児睾丸腫瘍の2例

Abstract

Two cases of teratoma of the testicle in infancy a n d childhood were encountered for a period of one year. The first case was a 5 yeqr old boy, who was admitted to our clinic with a diagnosis of left testicular tumor. On admission, physical examination revealed no abnormality except for the mass in the left scrotum. On the 11th day after the left high orchiectomy he was discharged in excellent condition. Eleven months later he is very healthy and without any evidence of metastasis. The second case was a 2 year old boy, who was admitted to our clinic with a diagnosis of right testicular tumor and received a right high orchiectomy On the 10th day after the operation, he was discharged in good condition as well. Three months later he is very healthy and there is no evidence of metastasis. In our country, the 172 cases of testicu l ar tumor in infancy and childhood have been reported. Embryonal carcinoma and teratoma show higher incidence than the other types, and a large number of these cases occurs before three years of age. The statistical data of the testicular tumor reported in J a pan 1940 to 1957 shows the same tendency ; 40 cases of embryonal carbinoma (52.7%), 18 cases of teratoma (23.6%) and 13 cases of seminoma (17.1%). A large number of these cases occurs before 3 years of age.
