dc.description.abstract | I reported on the Fyrophosphatase activity in the urogenital organs of normal rabbits and on its change in either experimental renal disturbance, or experimental tuberculosis of the kidney and epididymis of rabbits. 1 have attempted to demonstrate the chang e of this activity in various urological diseases. The results obtained are as follows. Chapter I. Pyrophosphatase activi t y in the tuberculosis of human kidney and epididymis 1) Pyrop h o sphatase in the human kidney and epididymis showing the tuberclous changes does not manifest the difference from that in experimenta l t uberculosis of rabbits. 2) It has been d emonstrated in this histochemical study that the chemotherapy resulted in the same effect on the tuberculous inflammation, a c c ordingly this therapy will be out of consideration. Chapter II. Pyrophosphatase activity in the prostatic hypertrophy 1) Pyrophosphatase activity is stronger in type II t h a n in type I in the prostatic hypertrophic epithelium. 2) The effect of f e m ale hormone upon the prostatic hypertrophy could not be clarified in this histochemical study. Chapter III. Pyrophosphatase activity in the urological diseases except the above described ones. 1) Malignant t u m or cells react vestigatively positive to positive and benign tumor cells react weak-positively in general. Interstitial tssues in malignant tumor a n d also benign tumor are always negative or vestigative positive in both type I and type II. On the contrary, prostatic cancer epithelium and inter s t i t i a l tissue are always positive in type II. 2) Walls of capillary blood vessel in both tumors are always showed positively. 3) In hydronephrosis and pyonephrosis, pyrophosphatase activity decreases in parallel with the histological changes, but some area, for example a fe w gromeruli or tubuli, remains histochemically intact in spite of the develo p ment of the histological changes. | en |
