The authorh as had an opportunityo f learningt he t r ansurethral surgery at the WhiteMemoriaHl ospital, L os AngelesU, .S.A.f or approximatelytw o years from 1955t o 1957.Sincet he author got accustomedto the endoscopics urgery in general in U.S . A. andsince he couldh ave his personale xperiencew ith 105c ases of the transurethral resectionof the prostate, bladder neck and bladder tumor under the direction of Drs. R.W.Barnes, R.T.Bergmana nd H.L.Hadleyt, h e author hereby describes briefly the indications of theTUR, the irrigatings olution, p re-andp ost-operativcea re, operativet echniquea nd complicationsetc.Th e endoscopicsu rgery is an i mportanta nd indispensablep art of the urologyi n U.S.A.In spite of great progress of the open surgery in recent years in urology in Japan, theendoscopics urgery is still far behind.
