非淋菌性尿道炎に於けるPleuropneumonia-LikeOrganisms(PPLO)に関する研究 第II編:PPLO分離株の分類に就て

Abstract

The 12 strains of Pleuropneumonia-Like Organisms (PPL O ) were examined to determine their biological properties ; 10 strains had been isolated from non-gonococcal urethritis in the male and 2 strains (07 and 'Campo L') isolated in America. All of 12 strains grew as well on media enriched w ith rabbit serum as they did on horse serum agar. When grown on horse serum agar they did not form film and spots. They grew throughout a semi-solid medium, producing a markedly granular growth. All strains did not produce haemolysis of horse blood agar and did not f e rment glucose. All except one ('Campo L') of the 12 strains produced no local abscesses in mic e after subcutaneous inoculation. Though se r o logical identification has been made, there seems to be little doubt that all except one('Campo L') of the strains tested are identical with the strains designated by Nicol and Edward as the Human Type 1.
