This studies were investigated inquiring whether t h e natural stones could be found in animals, and moreover, whether the components would be the same not only in human beings but also in many species of animals. As well known, there have been many referrences about the human urinary stones, and one of the authors has already reported on the analytical studies of this subject, but little is known regarding to the natural stones in animals. On this report, the authors concluded as follow e d. 1. The incidence of the urinary stones in animals. Few reports have been seen about dog's a n d mink's stones. The urinary stones in cows and bulls could not be found in Okayama slaughter house (here 3000-4000 slaughted in one year). Considering, however, the numbers and ages of this kind of animals, nothing or few would be found in animals. 2. The components of t he urinary stones in animals. Newberyite, struvite and calcite are the princ i p al components. But the stone components have much differences between the graminivorous and the carnivorous animals. 3. The comparison of the components and the structures in experimental and natural urinary stones. An a m orphous substances (Apatite) could hardly be found in bladder calculi, and the complicated structure of many elements as in human could not be found in animal stones.en
