dc.description.abstractA 51 year-old woman with aneurysm of the left renal artery was presented. H er chief complaint was intermittent left flank pain of 10 years duration. Laboratory findings were all negative and blood pressure was normal (128/70). Scout film and excretory urogram showed a calcified ring shadow (1.6 cm in diameter) in the hilum of the left kidney with no changes in pyelogram. Translumber aortography revealed a saccular aneurysm of left renal artery developing from its bifurcation. Because operative repair of arterial defects after excision of the aneurysm was impossible, left nephrectomy was done. Histologically the kidney showed no particular findings. Postoperative course was uneventful and the pain completely disappeared. The literature s were reviewed and 47 cases of renal artery aneurysm were added to 175 cases which were collected by Garritano up to October 1957.
