原発巣剔除により肺転移巣の自然消失を見た副腎腫の1例

Abstract

A case of spontaneous disappearance of pulmonary metastases following nephrectomy for hypernephroma in a 69-year-old male patient is reported. For six months this patient had been suffering f rom dull pain and occasional colic pain in the right flank and dysuria. No gross hematuria had been noted. Urological examinations revealed parenchymal tumor of the right kidney. X-ray of the chest revealed at least seven or more nodular metastatic lesions throughout both lung fields. After nephrectomy for the hypernephroma those metastatic lesions decreased in size and number gradually and almost completely disappeared eighteen months after the operation. At present he has no complaints and is quite h ealthy. Eighteen similar cases reported on literature a r e discussed. Postulations as to regression or disappearance of m alignant tumors are also discussed.
