Neuroblastomaの2例

Abstract

Two cases of neuroblastoma in retroperitoneal cav i t y were experienced recently in our clinic. The first patient of 3 years and 6 months of age admitted to the hospital with a chief complaint of left abdominal mass. Left nephrectomy and partial extirpation of tumor were performed. The tumor was diagnosed histologically as sympathicogonioma. Despite a continuous chemotherapy she died on the 29th postoperative day. The second patient of 2 years and 4 months of age re f erred from the Pediatric Department of our hospital with a complaint of abdominal distension. A large tumor occupying the left upper quadrant was palpated. The left kidney was found to be dislocated downward on excretory urography. On the 25th of November, the operation of partial extirpation of the left retroperitoneal tumor and left nephrectomy were performed. Several kinds of chemotherapy and irradiation were combined postoperatively. She died on the 28th postoperative day. D u ring 2 month clinical course determination for urinary catecholamine was frequently performed on the second case, which demonstrated secretion of a large amount of dopamine by the tumor. This is the first case of dopamine-secreting tumor in Japan.
