抄録: | It was proved in rabbits that an intense hemorrhagic reac t i on can be produced by endotoxin in tissue of the urinary bladder by means of the "reversed Shwartzman phenomenon" first illustrated by Fujisawa in 1960, in which a description was made that intradermal injection of endotoxin can provoke a hemorrhage at the injected site of the abdominal skin of rabbits previously given intravenous injection of endotoxin. It was found that this type of hemorrhagic reac t i on in the urinary bladder is easier to occur in rabbits which possess higher Shwartzman antibody titer in their sera of the general circulation. This type of tissue reactivity seemed to be lower in grade in the urinary bladder than that of in the abdominal skin. In another wards, a larger dose of endotoxin was required to elicit this type of hemorrhage in the tissue of the urinary bladder than in the abdominal skin. On comparative observations of this type of tissue reactivity between in the cervical and corporal areas of the urinary bladder, it appeared that the former tissue has a higher reactivity than the latter tissue to endotoxin. Glycyrricin showed a suppre s sing effect on this type of tissue reaction, and its administration also protected the invasion of the organisms of Coli to the local sites of hemorrhage. |
