精管化骨の1例

Abstract

A case of ossification of the spermatic cord accompanied with right ureteral calculus arisen in a 45 years old man is reported. Ossification of the spermatic cord is not a rare disease at the present days when simple X-ray examination and vesiculography are so advanced. Our case was thought to have calcification on the basis of clinical, X-ray and vesiculographical findings, but a diagnosis of ossification of the spermatic cord was established by pathohistological examination of the operatively extirpated specimen. This is the first case of the ossification of the spermatic cord reported in Japan. Necessity of histological examinations is emphasizcd for diagnosis of ossification of the spermatic cord since there are many similarities on clinical and objective findings between the ossification and calcification.
