Abstract

Although, in addition to surgical methods, the use of supervoltage radiotherapy has introduced a powerful new mean for treatment of cancer, complications of treatment must be sufficiently warned. For the urinary bladder, telangiectasis is expected to be developed, yet it sometimes becomes cause of serious bleeding. The present report deals with two ca s es of bleeding death presumably due to telangiectasis of the bladder as the late effect following cobalt-60 irradiations. The case I had gross hematuria from telangiectasis 2 years after cobalt-60 therapy and the case II had gross hematuria a year after the therapy.
