抄録: Statistical analysis and review of literatures were m ade on 128 cases of congenital malformations of the kidney, renal pelvis and ureter, excluding movable kidney, observed at the department of urology of the Hiroshima University Hospital during the period of 9 and a half years from 1956 to June, 1965. 1. The prevalence of the condition s was relatively high among 8, 774 patients seen at out-patient clinic of the Department during the observation period, the ratio being 1 to 69. 2. The observed 128 cases consisted of patients with 29 cystic kidney, 10 horsesh o e kidney, 3 hypoplastic kiney, 4 pelvic kidney, 3 crossed ectopic kidney, 10 malrotation, 17 congenital hydronephrosis, 2 solitany renal cyst, 1 aplastic kidney, 44 reduplication of pelvis and ureter, 3 ureterocele and 2 ectopic ureteral opening. 8. For the 128 cases, male and female patients we re 62 and 66 cases respectively, of which ratro's to the total out-patients were 1 to 89 in males and 1 to 50 in females, being more freqnent in females. 4. No differenc e was seen for the side affected. 5. Age of the patients varied from 3 to 80 years old, with the most predominant prevalence being in patients of 4 th. 5 th. and 6 th. decades. 6. The most frequent chief complaint at the t i me of visit was abdominal pain (40 cases), followed by in order of hematuria (28 cases) and lower back pain (17 cases). 7. Complications were demonkrated in 112 cases. Hydronephrosis, lithiasis , infections and hypertension were observed rather frequently. 8. Urinalysis showed proteinuria i n 62 cases, glycosuria in 2 cases, presence of red cells in sediment in 63 cases, white cells in 75 cases and bacilli in 29 cases. 9. Most.of' the cases revealed normal renal function test (PSP, indigocarmin test and NPN), while the abnormal renal functions were frequently seen in patients with cystic kidney. 10. Six patients'were survivors of the atomic bomb explosion.
