dc.description.abstract | The clinical effects of a new vitamin B1 derivative, 0-But y rylthiamine disulfide (BuTDS), were evaluated in 24 patients with various urological diseases including bladder neurosis, nephroptosis, during or after operation and others. Patients were given 50 m g of BuTDS i n travenously daily or 2 to 3 times per week, except that postoperative patients who received the drug intravenously by drip only. The results obtained by BuTDS lead to the following conclusions : 1. Subjective symptoms involving urinary frequency, pain on u rination, etc. were completely relieved or improved in 8 out of 12 patients with bladder neurosis. 2. Subjective symptoms accompanied by nephroptosis, such as lumbago, flank abdominal pain, anorexia, etc. disappeared or were improved in 3 out of 6 patients. 3. With the injection of BuTDS during or after urological operatio n , postoperative paralysis of the intestinal tract was effectively recovered. 4. Although only 1 patient complained of slight numbness of the tongue, other patients showed no adverse reaction. | en |
